Computational Fluid Dynamics for LDraw

Here are first results of our ongoing experiments with OpenFOAM for LDraw models to simulate flows around constructions.

We have been working on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for digital LEGO and LDraw models for some time now. For the simulation we use the open source and free software OpenFOAM. Here is a first result of our experiments:

CostAster does not support LDraw models directly. However, we were able to convert the LDraw models into the OBJ Wavefront data format using LeoCAD. This data format can be read and used directly in OpenFOAM.
